JEKKAH is the fun and funky brand that will bring a bit of African color to your life. Founded in 2013, they design and manufacture their African inspired clothing made from 100% cotton African wax print materials in the Gambia, West Africa. The word JEKKAH is a word taken from the wolof language which is language spoken by over 10 million people in West Africa, mainly in Senegal and The Gambia. Wolof is a spoken language, not a written one so people may argue over the spelling but the word has a clear meaning: JEKKAH -[je-kka], n. (1) to be beautiful or elegant, (2) to be well dressed. JEKKAH gives back to Africa and especially the people of The Gambia by only employing local highly trained tailors. More so, they have teamed up with the ERASE FOUNDATION whose main objective is to provide resources and assistance to communities in West Africa, particularly Gambia. 5% of all online sales and proceeds will be donated to this awesome charity who have built schools and orphanages for impoverished children in remote locations in The Gambia.
